Captain EJ Ochs began his career with the Garden City Police Department in June of 2003 as a patrol officer. Captain Ochs has held the rank of Field Training Officer, Master Patrol Officer, Senior Master Patrol Officer, Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Training Coordinator, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant and Patrol Commander. Captain Ochs, is currently the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team Commander and the Commander in charge of the Investigations Division. Captain Ochs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a second major in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University.
